Art Tour on Campus
TTUHSC El Paso host Tom Lea Art tour on campus
Earlier this month, TTUHSC El Paso President Dr. Richard Lange, Hunt School of Nursing Dean Dr. Stephanie Woods, and chair of surgery Dr. Alan Tyroch led a Tom Lea Art tour with Adair Margo for the University of Texas at El Paso's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Throughout the tour, our guests were able to hear about our campus’ unique displays and multiple art pieces by Tom Lea, one of the Borderplex's most legendary artists.
TTUHSC El Paso has featured original and reproductions of Lea’s works since opening, including “The First Recorded Surgical Operation in North America: Cabeza de Vaca, 1535,” which hangs in the Center for Advanced Teaching and Assessment in Clinical Simulation . In addition, the campus has some of the most thought-provoking public art works in the Borderplex.
More of the breathtaking artwork can be found in our special coffee book TTUHSC El Paso: Art, Inspiration and Impact.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a program for senior adults, age 50 and older. It offers classes on various topics.
