Dental Scholarships Announced
Building on its support of our region’s future dentists, the GECU Foundation has announced another generous contribution of $325,000 for Hunt School of Dental Medicine scholarships and the dental patient fund.
Standing Tall
Sydnye Fields, a 6-foot-3-inch former NCAA women’s volleyball player, is easy to pick out in a crowd. The fourth-year Hunt School of Dental Medicine student has been selected for a prestigious dental anesthesiology residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.
Give Kids A Smile
Local elementary school children were grinning ear to ear on Friday, Feb. 21, as the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic hosted its fourth annual Give Kids a Smile® event.
Alzheimer’s Research Grant
Texas Tech Health El Paso researcher Subodh Kumar, Ph.D., M.S., has been awarded a $55,000 grant for his study on an Alzheimer’s disease biomarker within the Hispanic population.
