Summer Camps at TTUHSC El Paso

The future is here.

TTUHSC El Paso hosted two summer camps this past June, giving Borderplex youths an idea of what a profession in the health science fields would be like.

The young participants of both camps are interested in a future career in the medical field and might just be part of the TTUHSC El Paso family one day.

Summer Medical Camp

The Summer Medical Camp, presented by El Paso Electric, ran from June 19-30. A second camp will begin on July 10.

During the two week camps, students attended interactive presentations with health care professionals, field trips, a mock crime scene investigation, financial aid seminars, and a simulation of life expenses.

June also saw the TTUHSC El Paso campus host the Pre-Health High School Summer Workshop, presented by Enfrnte and Desert Mountain AHEC.

During the June 14-16 workshops, high school students from around our Borderplex were able to learn how our nursing students train at the Hunt School of Nursing. The students were able to try out the nursing virtual reality software and even dissect a sheep's heart. We hope to see the Enfrnte students officially become Red Raiders soon.
