Huron Consulting Group Assessment; New IRB Chair, Dr. Stormy Monks

The Office of Research is pleased to announce we recently partnered with Huron Consulting Group to conduct an impartial, external assessment of our IRB operations and functions. 

Huron’s assessment of our IRB outlined all the areas where we provide quality service, to include:

A.   Our IRB turnaround time for review of proposals is within national standards.

B.    Our standard operating procedures appropriately align with OHRP and the FDA.

C.    We provide laudatory customer service and support.

D.   We have supportive and knowledgeable IRB leadership. 

We are extremely pleased by the review and would like to thank all the people involved with the IRB and its administrative staff for their excellent service. 

Huron provided suggestions on how our IRB can further assist the faculty and streamline the IRB process, which we are in the process of incorporating. 

I would like to thank all who participated in the survey/process. 

We would also like to introduce and thank Dr. Stormy Monks for taking on the leadership role as the new IRB chair.  

Additionally, we would like to thank the members who are rotating off our IRB for their dedication and years of service. 

We would like to welcome our new members, and we look forward to working with the entire institution as we continue to enhance and increase TTUHSC El Paso’s research endeavors.
