Admissions Interviewers Needed

A Message from the Foster School of Medicine Office of Admissions

Dear Potential Interviewer,

 Our Foster School of Medicine admissions interview season for entry year 2023 will begin Thursday, July 28, 2022, and end February 9, 2023. Virtual interviews take place weekly every Thursday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. except holidays. Interviewers are asked to commit to interviewing candidates on at least five Thursdays or as many as possible. Interviewers are encouraged to join us for deliberations by the admissions committee at 3:30 p.m. and advocate for their candidates in person or via Webex. The Office of Admissions will assign you three to four interviews on your selected date and work around your schedule as best as possible to facilitate participation. All new interviewers are required attend one of three interviewer orientation sessions offered on July 12, 14 and 20, 2022, from 3 to 5 p.m.

 We have expanded interviewer opportunities to include all TTUHSC El Paso employees with faculty appointments, community physicians, as well as TTUHSC El Paso-affiliated administrators with terminal degrees who have an interest in our admissions process and UME curriculum. If you feel you may know someone who fits these expanded categories and may be interested in participating, please refer them our way for further information and determination of eligibility.

 The total number of candidates that we can interview is strictly dependent on the availability of interviewers, and your participation is critically needed to bring in the next class of medical students.  Please complete the attached Interview Date Selection form with your preferred interview and orientation dates and return it to Yolanda Betancourt, Associate Director of Admissions at yolanda.betancourt@ttuhsc.edu.  Please note, you do NOT need to be a member of the Admissions Committee to serve as an interviewer. Service on the Admissions Committee is a separate obligation with voting privileges.
