Transformational leadership begins HERE.

Congratulations to the inaugural cohort of Texas Tech Health El Paso Leadership Series!

Eighteen members of our Texas Tech Health El Paso family recently completed a new leadership development program hosted by the Office of the President.

Dr. Lange and Vice President for Institutional Advancement Andrea Tawney, Ph.D., led the instruction for this first cohort.

The inaugural Leadership Series launched in June 2023 and ended in April 2024. The program consisted of six 90-minute sessions encompassing topics that included: creating a leader mindset, leading with values, improving communication, the art of negotiation and difficult conversations, and more.

“The goal of the series is to develop transformational leaders at all levels within our campus community,” said Texas Tech Health El Paso President Richard Lange, M.D., M.B.A. “I congratulate our 18 inaugural participants on a job well done and look forward to the positive impact they’ll make in their departments and at our university as a whole.”

Dr. Lange said the program embraces a “teach the teacher” philosophy. “Participants will take what they learn and help others on campus become outstanding leaders,” he said.
