Dr. Cynthia Perry Promoted
Dr. Perry is the Foster School of Medicine’s New Associate Academic Dean for Admissions
Dr. Cynthia Perry has been promoted to Associate Academic Dean for Admissions at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, effective April 1, 2022. Dr. Perry joined the Foster School of Medicine team in 2013 and is an associate professor in the Department of Medical Education.
Dr. Perry earned her Ph.D. from the University of California San Diego and her B.S from the University of Arizona. As an advocate for diversity in higher education, Dr. Perry analyzes matriculation predictors for the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP), a unique program created by the Texas Legislature to provide support and encouragement for economically disadvantaged students pursuing careers in medicine.
Her passion for JAMP and other pipeline programs extends to her memberships in organizations such as Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS) and the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS). She is a member of the International Society for Stem Cell Research, the International Association for Medical Science Educators, and a reviewer for Medical Science Educator.
