Globe-trotting Dentist
Mir Faeq Quadri, Ph.D., M.S., B.D.S., FRSPH, FICD, a dental education professional with extensive research experience from around the globe, has joined the Hunt School of Dental Medicine as an assistant professor.

The Dianne and Arturo Cervantes Scholarship in Memory of Amanda Dawn Cervantes will be awarded to eligible El Paso-area students, with a special preference for high school graduates from the Ysleta Independent School District.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso received a generous grant from the Electric Company Charitable Foundation.
Nursing Commencement
Saturday’s commencement closed out Texas Tech Health El Paso’s 10-year anniversary. The majority of the 2023 fall nursing graduates are residents of our Borderplex region.

TTUHSC El Paso welcomed the Borderplex community to its “home” on campus to honor cancer warriors at the Lighting Campus for Hope event.
Neighborhood Smiles
El Pasoans had two big reasons to celebrate Neighborhood Smiles Day on Friday, Nov. 17. First, Marathon Petroleum announced a generous $50,000 gift in support of the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic. Second, 120 children received free dental exams as part of the special day.
Season of Thanks
The annual event to honor TTUHSC El Paso donors was made all the more special with the announcement of a new $250,000 gift from the Robisons to fund scholarships for Foster School of Medicine students.
Cheers to $13,000
L&F Distributors and El Perro Grande Tequila poured their hearts out by pledging to contribute $5 for every bottle of El Perro Grande tequila sold during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
$50K for Dental Scholarships
The Feinberg Foundation’s gift will provide scholarships that ease the financial burden of students receiving a world-class education at the Hunt School of Dental Medicine.
Reducing the Nursing Shortage
A $200,000 grant from Trellis Foundation will address the critical nursing shortage by helping nursing students avoid the need for working outside jobs.
A Boost for Dental Students
Ethos Financial and its president and CEO, Inaam Ziyadeh, gave the Hunt School of Dental Medicine $50,000 to improve dental care access in El Paso.
