Black History Month Continues, Along With More Campus Events
The month of February is halfway through, but there are still plenty of events scheduled on campus in celebration of Black History Month. Here is a list of upcoming celebrations, which can also be found in the Events section of Tech Talk.
Ongoing: Black History Month Scavenger Hunt - It kicked off at the beginning of the month and will last all the way through Feb. 28. Look for flags hidden around campus featuring African American historical figures. Bring the flag to MSB II, Student Affairs Office (Room 223) and win a prize!
Feb. 24: Black History Month Local Shop Showcase - The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Health invites the campus community to join in celebrating Black History Month and the diversity of local businesses at the Local Shop Showcase.
Feb. 28: Diversity and Global Health Perspectives Film Series Presents “Hidden Figures” - The 2016 feature film will be shown in honor of Black History Month. It stars Taraji P. Hensen, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monae.

Feb. 20: Diversity and Global Health Perspectives Film Series: Global Health Education Program - “Bending the Arc,” a documentary about a group of health advocates who took on a mission to bring high quality health care to some of the world’s poorest communities.
March 8: Inaugural International Women’s Celebration - Registration for the event is now open.
